This XnView software is a graphics image viewing and conversion program with numerous functions including filter application (average, blur and emboss) and slide show support. The Microsoft Windows version supports 44 languages. It also works with other common graphic formats like .gif and .tif.
The Digital Strategies company uses the .pac file extension, calling it a CrossePac compressed archive file. Digital Strategies sells technology solutions (applications) for businesses, in order to improve their computers, data storage and order tracking.

The LPAC system was developed by Tilman Liebchen in order to create a codec (coder/decoder) for "lossless" compressed audio. The term, "lossless" refers to the audio file retaining all of its original quality before and after compresson/decompression. This "lossless" format can achieve compression ranges from 1.5 to 4, depending on the type of music compressed. It differs from "lossy" compression/decompression formats like MP3 and RealAudio which have higher compression ratios than "lossless" but lose quality during the compression/decompression procedure.
LPAC's ExactAudioCopy freeware application works with the file extension .pac on many different platforms including Microsoft Windows, Linux and Solaris. The Winamp media player plug-in can also play the file extension .pac. The LPAC archiver works with Windows systems. The MIME type is "audi/x-pac".
Netscape also uses the .pac file extension for its Browser, calling it a Proxy Auto-Config file. Mozilla Firefox and Opera are related to Netscape and use this "proxy.pac" file to read location information (URL, host name and domain).
